So you want to get players? Maybe you just launched, or maybe you want to gain a broader audience. We all know it’s hard to gain traction, and with the growing amount of servers, it makes it even harder. We’ve gathered the most popular, and tested tips to grow your Minecraft server!
The easiest, and honestly the most effective way to gain traction is through Server Lists. By posting your server on these lists, you are able to put your server out for hundreds of thousands of people to see. Essentially it’s a public website that lists servers for people to join.Even if your server isn’t at the top, most likely your server will show up in a category called “New Servers” (or something similar). You can also gain a following by becoming a sponsor of their website. You can expect a snowball effect: once you start up your community, these players will advertise your server to their friends, vote your server, and play on it, all of which will only further boost your position.
You can argue all you want, but by starting a social media page, whether that’s YouTube, TikTok, X, or all three, your server could reach people you never thought would be interested. Not only that, but by building relationships and collaborating with other content creators, your server could become big.Creating short clips, usually 15-30 seconds long, showing off your server will be effective to most people. It’s enough time to add context, but short enough that people won’t click away. Don’t choose boring clips, choose clips that have meaning, whether it’s a funny clip or a serious clip. Ensure it gives your server a positive look.
Development of your server is HUGE. If your server isn’t developed properly, people won’t want to play. Even if you have huge content creators working with you, players won’t want to stick around. Remember not to rush launch. Patience is a virtue. A rushed launch that’s not developed properly does NOT beat a delayed launch that’s worth the wait.We understand how frustrating developing a server is. Having a server that’s down all the time, lacks features, or doesn’t have support can be frustrating, and can lead to loss of players, or a lack of trust. Choosing the right game server provider (GSP) is essential to running a server. Choosing a provider that offers no less than 99.9% uptime, and can prove it (whether that’s a public status page or via a Support Ticket), is necessary.Having a hosting provider with a powerful panel with features such as a server splitter, offsite backups, modpack and plugin installers, a game switcher, player manager, subdomain manager, and a clean UI is helpful.A host with knowledgeable support that responds in less than an hour almost every time is something that you don’t see every day, but its helpful. That’s why we’re different.
